Chats Foundation Background

Chats Bua Le Nna Foundation is a non-profit Company limited by guarantee based in Gaborone, Botswana that was founded on the 14th of January 2022 in remembrance of the late Chatapiwa Keakantse.

“In the seven years that Chatapiwa worked, she had toiled hard, proving to be a fighter who wanted to succeed. She always wanted to improve and worked hard to be an associate. Her clients loved her kind nature and fighting spirit. In Chatapiwa we lost a vibrant and talented professional. Chatapiwa was on track to be equity partner, dreams which have now been shattered. There was no ‘passion’ in her killing.

We must challenge the myth perpetuating in society of the injustice of a man thinking he has some form of ownership over a woman to the extent that he thinks that he has the power to take her life. It must end. As a society, we have some thinking to do, and we have to say enough is enough.” Jeffrey Bookbinder
