About Chata
Ms Chatapiwa Keakantse (affectionately known as Chata or Pipi to her family and friends) was born on the 26th of August 1989 in Francistown, Botswana. She was the last-born daughter to Mrs Lizzy Keakantse Masima and Mr Benjamin Keakantse Masima.
Educational Background
Chata spent her early childhood years in Francistown and Sebinanyana. She started her primary school level at Mampori Memorial School in Marapong, where she was from 1996 until 2000 (Standard 1-5) before transferring to Sebina Primary School, where she completed her Standard 7 in 2002.
She was a Shangano CJSS student for her junior secondary school years from 2003 until 2005 and proceeded to Tutume McConnell Community College, where she completed her BGCSE in 2007.
Chata graduated with a Bachelor of Laws Degree from University of Botswana in 2013 and was amongst the best performers in her class.
Career Life
Upon completion of her studies, she enrolled for an internship with Sydney Pilane Legal Consultants and was briefly with Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (MVA). She joined Bookbinder Business Law (BBL) as an Attorney in 2014, where she rose through the ranks to the position of Senior Associate Attorney.
Social and Spiritual Life
Chata was an active member of the Old Apostolic Church of Africa. She was an epitome of kindness, affection, vivacity, and brilliance to many who knew her. She was a lover of the finer things in life: Travelling, fashion, fun etc.
She is survived by her parents, 4 siblings (3 sisters and a brother), 4 nieces and 2 nephews.
